"pros:
fun to shoot

sturdy (mine came with a cracked outer barrel at the receiver, but doesnt affect anything)

reliable internals lasted over 6000 rounds and can probably do double that (still pot metal but because it is a semi auto only gun, less complex, thicker parts)

very accurate and very useable after simple upgrades without HPA, youre not going to be able to hit fingers at 250ft, but its a DMR, not a precision sniper, it does DMR things well.

cons:
inaccurate from the factory (fixed with an autobot bucking and crazyjet barrel, tape on the back of the magwell so the magazine doesnt wiggle)
firing pin assembly is a weak point, i initially broke it by messing with it, but its a high stress part made of pot metal, still a weak point regardless if it breaks or not

"I like it, the recoil is stunning, and is very very loud. I don't actually play Airsoft, I more or less shoot cans in my basement.

The magazines hold a lot of gas, I can easily get two magazines worth of shots before I notice the rifle's action slowing down.

There are many steel parts on the gun, trigger assembly and receiver not withstanding, but I don't like that the set screws that hold the gun together are made of pot metal. Speaking of screws, I took apart the entire front end of the gun for lubrication, and there's a lot of different parts that you have to line up perfectly just to get it all back together. It's very tedious, and judging from the parts diagram, taking apart the trigger assembly is going to be even worse when it breaks.

Threads are CCW 14mm (Righty-tighty to unscrew), be wary of the loctite on the flash hider. One will have to use a hairdryer for a few minutes to loosen it up so you can unscrew it. Mine came with a replacement black flash hider, but I can't fit it on the rifle because they're both male threads.

The rifle also came with a speed loader, and a spare receiver buffer.

I can't think of a better GBBR for this price, this one is certainly the best for fun and looks!

"This gun is great, if you love to snipe in airsoft games, this is the gun for you. it is dead accurate, but you will need heavy bbs like .32 or higher. I mean it is a gas blow back Dragunov, my favorite sniper rifle. it has a nice amount of kick and shoots so hard, its a great gun. i highly recommend it. AMAZING!

"I am an AK guy and the SVD is my favorite gun, since this is my favorite gun I am a little biased. The WE SVD looks amazing and feels amazing, it is heavy and what you’d expect from a SVD. The receiver is steel obviously but everything else is aluminum which isn’t a bad thing, you can change it out for steel. The one thing that doesn’t feel right is the stock and handguards, I really wish there was a real wood option from WE.

The disassembly is pretty easy but do take note that there is a break in period that will make it slightly harder to disassemble. Main examples are the safety and dust cover switch being very stiff, and the buffer is hard to take out if not oiled.

For the people in the US the orange tip is pinned and glued meaning you cannot just unscrew it but if you’re able to get it off the adapter in the barrel is 14mm Positive. The adapter is also pinned and glued so you’ll need to get crafty if you’re gonna take it out. If you do manage to take it out the barrel is threaded 14mm Negative / 14mm CCW. If you’re gonna get the WE SVD muzzle brake for this you’ll need to take both out.

Mags are somewhat hard to find but you can find them. Internal parts are widely available and affordable right now so don’t worry about internals breaking and never being able to get more. If you choose to upgrade internals there are a few Heavy Recoil places online where you can find help with either repairs or upgrades.

If you have experience in general or with AK’s you’ll figure it out, it’s an eastern block type gun get ready for an eastern block experience. Overall I love it. Aesthetics are great, upgrade potential is ok. Best part is it’s not another AR.

"I bought this gun because I wanted a ak/ svd Gbbr, and I located this beautiful rifle. I got the black one because I didn’t have the money at the time to get the wood type but it will work ,the one thing about this gun that’s kind of annoying thing is the issues in the cold, but that’s most gbbrs, the gun is a full blow back and full sized. You are able to remove the orange tip and is capable of a bayonet. Nice kick too. To answer the question only some people have, no it doesn’t take ak47,74 or drum mags. I’ve haven’t hade any thing break down yet and I’ve hade this gun sense early December in 2022. Sights are ok, you are capable of putting on a pso-1 scope.

great feeling metal body.
Quality of materials.
Loud and great kick.
High fps (i like for plinking)

Cons:
Some wobbly parts (gas tube, polymer handguard)
Bolt lock back feature does not work after running out of bbs.
Terrible gas efficiency.
Bolt will not fully cycle likely due to heavy bolt weight.
Not very accurate.


Kinda disappointed but still fun in the long run. Gun still shoots well, just not on cold days. Hopefully I can fix these features.

the internals seem solid as WE has seemed to give all of their guns an internal upgrade, being semi auto only means the trigger parts are beefier

its very very loud

feels solid externally besides the fake wood having a little bit of play

shoots straight and far after the hopup is broken in, i will be seeing if it will hop and joule creep .40s to an acceptable level

cons

the imitation wood looks awful, if they gave it a more orangey shade like the real svd and didnt have the grain on the handguard facing the wrong direction it would be fine

comes with a metal flash hider in the box, but requires a male to male adapter to fit it, which i havent seen online at all, the suppressor i bought as a base that works as an adapter so i got lucky

after a couple hundred shots the magazine will not always trigger the bolt catch, put a glob of GEL super glue on the lever that interacts with the bolt catch so that it pushes it up.

magazines are $55 on sale and $70 new, hard to get

my magazine also broke but that was from me messing with the bolt catch lever

"Good gun, but very expensive. I bought one and it works consistently... I think. I never got the chance to really use it because it came open and unstrapped from its box and with a broken scope mount. I will be returning it and I am disappointed, as this is a good gun, I just got the crappy one. The gun itself is huge and pretty cool. But it feels flimsy somewhat, like you have to handle it with care. I will not ask for a replacement as I am not a fan of the size despite really liking the look of SVD's. It is also really loud, as loud as a person yelling so if you want stealth, like me, look elsewhere. The kick is amazing and as a prop it works great. It also comes with a full black flash hider which is great, but I don't know how well it fits. The cheek rest is high quality rubber (not leather) and the gun came to me with lots of blue tape around it's mag and various parts of it's stock and a huge, blue, MADE IN TAIWAN sticker which I imagine (and hope) is remove-able. I don't know how accurate it is but the mag I bought and that Evike suggested fits, and I think fires. The stock is high quality ABS plastic and the takedown is amazing. Overall, I give this product a 3/5 but only because I am disappointed in its post-shipping condition. The gun itself is great but I think I bought a dud. I am disappointed in Evike's shipping, it is usually very good and I will still buy from them again.

Ordered a new one ($22), fired ONE time and the new nozzle broke too. I've never had any problem with any other WE product however.
